THE DESIGN PROCESS

FINAL DESIGNS

  • Apres Ski was designed with form over function unlike its sister collection Athlete Ski. These designs are catered to a true Apres Ski holiday, with chalet and winter conditions kept in mind, while still referencing the Hi-Viz apparel we see so often on the slopes.

  • The inspiration behind this collection was to incorporate looks we see so often on the mountains, and Hi-Viz colors, but to bring a sort of impracticality to these garments so though they may be high tech in material and hardware, they become obsolete in functional use of skiing..

  • While designing this collection, I wanted to highlight the two Hi-Viz colors that some resorts shy away from civilians using for day to day ski - neon red and neon yellow. This helps to pay tribute to the mountains, but incorporates these in a fun and modern way for your ski holiday.

  • Prioritizing the impracticality of this collection was imperative when incorporating these high tech outerwear fabrics. Whether it be an absurdly long puffer coat that no one would be able to perform in on the mountain, or absurdly long ties, these design choices were kept in mind to highlight the ski apparel industry but to also contradict them in practicality and form.
